Hibernation Station is a spacious and well-equipped rustic getaway for a large gathering of family or friends. The space was clean, comfortable, cozy, and amply stocked with everything we needed. Our family group of eleven spent the weekend and had a great time. We cooked all of our meals on-site, using the stove, oven, and gas grill. The bar area created a separate space for snacks and drinks, and the two counters and banquette table provided plenty of room for food prep and eating. We did laundry, took showers, and ran the dishwasher a couple of times, and we had more than enough hot water. The driveway accommodated two trucks, a mini-SUV, and a car with room to spare. Everyone really enjoyed the game room downstairs and the games that are available in the living room, which we played in front of the gas/wood-burning fireplace. (You do have to provide your own wood, and having a long handle lighter is handy.) The first night, the jacuzzi would not heat up past 80 degrees, but they sent a technician over to fix it the next morning, and it was piping hot for the rest of our stay--we really enjoyed it! It snowed while we were there, and the shovel and rock salt that were on-hand made it a no-brainer. There was even a sled that the kids used in the backyard. The house is within a close drive to everything--Big Bear, Snow Summit, Tubing, Kmart, grocery stores, town, lake, etc. The two repair needs we discovered our first night (the jacuzzi and a broken slat on one of the queen beds) were repaired within hours of reporting them the next day, so we were able to enjoy the rest of our stay with everything in order. We would definitely recommend Hibernation Station and would stay there again in the future. It is a fantastic place for a large group.
